Special Olympian Josh Gorecki stood before Rotarians with his gold, silver and bronze medals. The state champion described his swimming, corn hole and bowling competitions, how he made instant friends and culminated healthy lifestyle choices. Special Olympics Wisconsin hosts more than 225 sporting events each year, engaging more than 14,600 athletes across Wisconsin. Ages 8 through 94 compete as dedicated, hardworking athletes. SOWI works to open hearts and minds to those with intellectual challenges. Striving to create inclusive communities, the organization hopes to create a world that celebrates all abilities. With 40 staff members, the organization delvers life changing healthcare to an underserved population. The organization is fully funded by donations. “I love my job,” speaker Chad Hershner told Rotarians at his table. Go to https://www.specialolympicswisconsin.org/ to learn more.
